Moving Tips

  • Disconnect all appliances: turn off gas and water; empty refrigerator, defrost freezer, disconnect ice maker.
  • Disconnect and wrap cords to televisions, VCRs, stereo equipment, computers and related accessories.
  • Clear paths to furniture, boxes. Make sure there is a place to park when the moving van arrives. If you live in an apartment building, you will need to reserve the elevator.
  • Set aside any items you will carrying with you.
